Good morning Border area, it’s Monday, January 19, 2026 and this is your Border Brief. There is snow in the forecast for tomorrow and temps stay cold all week, more on that in weather. That also changed the outlook on road conditions. Now to everything you need to know as you head out the door.

Listen here:

In news:
The day the power went out was a busy one for County of Vermilion River fire crews. It wasn’t a great day for a bail fire but Clandonald and Dewberry departments spent around 6 hours fighting one well into the evening being hampered by the high winds. The departments also responded to power lines down and the incident that injured a Kitscoty RCMP officer.

The City of Lloydminster will resume street clean-up today. Signs have been up all weekend in the area of Lloyd Comprehensive, reminder, do not park on the roadways during snow removal operations.

Kitscoty Golf and Disc Golf Course is asking people to please refrain from operating snowmobiles on the course. It can do permanent damage to the fairway, greens and other areas.
