Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has determined the death of a 29-year-old woman from Waterhen Lake First Nation to be non-suspicious in nature.
The update follows an investigation that began on November 28, when Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of an unresponsive person in a parking lot near Highway 4 and 1 Avenue W. Officers located an adult female who was declared deceased at the scene.
Her family has been notified.
Major Crimes, working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and support from Meadow Lake RCMP, North Battleford Police Dog Service, and North Battleford Forensic Identification Services, has since ruled out criminality.
“As there is no criminality involved in this investigation, we will not be sharing further details to be mindful of the privacy of the victim and those involved,” stated Saskatchewan RCMP.
The RCMP previously asked anyone with information about activity in the area early that morning to contact investigators.
