Kitscoty RCMP attend collision on HIghway 16 Near Blackfoot

Kitscoty RCMP responded to a collision on highway 16 early on the morning of Dec. 2.

RCMP “K” Division Public Information Officer Mat Howell provided the following details.

“At approximately 5:30 a.m. we were notified of a collision at the corner of Highway 16 and Range Road 20 by OnStar. Upon arrival we located two-vehicles were involved in the collision,” stated Howell. “One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the initial investigation noted weather was believed to be a factor.”

Protective Services for County of Vermilion River confirmed that Blackfoot Fire and Rescue responded to the scene to provide assistance.

The roadway was down to one lane while crews cleared the scene, the highway was back to normal by shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Howell would like to remind motorists to pay attention, slow down and move over when you come across a collision.
