Travel is expected to become more challenging as snow intensifies. Visibility may be reduced at times, particularly in open areas.

Drivers heading south toward Calgary should also be aware that Highways 1, 2, 9, 21, 22X and several connecting routes are currently reported as partially covered or covered in the city’s immediate area.

Motorists are advised to:

  • Slow down and adjust driving to conditions
  • Increase following distance
  • Allow extra time for travel
  • Be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions

Road conditions can change quickly, especially once snowfall begins. Drivers are encouraged to check Alberta 511 and Saskatchewan Highway Hotline updates before travelling.

This report will be updated at noon, 4 and this evening as conditions change.
