As of 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, road conditions between Edmonton and Saskatoon are generally good, with one stretch requiring added caution as light snow moves through the region.
Current conditions
- Highway 16 west of Lloydminster toward Edmonton: clear and in good driving condition
- Highway 16 east of Lloydminster toward Saskatoon: partly covered east of Highway 376
- Visibility: good at this time
- Weather: light snow reported in the Lloydminster area
- Temperature: around -22 C, with wind chill near -31
What to watch for
- Light snow this morning may create slick sections, especially on open highway stretches
- Reduced traction is possible east of Lloydminster where snow cover remains
- Cold temperatures increase the risk of frostbite during stops or breakdowns

Outlook for today
Light snow is expected to taper off and conditions should improve near midday as skies begin to clear. Winds are expected to ease later this morning, which should help limit blowing snow. Drivers should still plan for winter conditions and allow extra travel timeime.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, increase following distance, and be prepared for changing road conditions.
