Lloyd region draws more than a quarter of province’s latest Crown land sale

Saskatchewan’s final Crown oil and natural gas public offering of 2025 generated more than $7.48 million in revenue, and more than one quarter of it came from the Lloydminster area.

The Dec. 2 sale attracted 89 bids covering 17,875.984 hectares across all four regions: Estevan, Lloydminster, Kindersley and Swift Current.

Lloydminster area results

Bidding on the Crown Oil and Natural Gas offerings in the Lloydminster area raised $1,886,404.70 for 29 leases covering 6,797.617 hectares. That represents 25.2 per cent of all revenue collected in this month’s offering.

Scout Energy Ltd. submitted the region’s highest bid, offering $777,861.13 for a 775.264 hectare parcel southeast of St. Walburg.

Provincewide numbers

Across Saskatchewan, the Estevan area led the sale with $3.69 million in revenue. Whitecap Resources Inc. submitted the highest bid of the offering, paying $1,047,040.88 for a 129.089 hectare lease southeast of Lampman.

The Swift Current and Kindersley regions each generated just under $1 million in revenue, raising $947,848.83 and $958,005.80 respectively.

This was the fifth public offering of Crown and Oil of the fiscal year. Saskatchewan has now raised $60,246,954.58 in 2025-26. The final sale of the fiscal year will take place Feb. 3, 2026, featuring 98 leases and two exploration licences covering 19,371.299 hectares.
