The Lloydminster RCMP says it has received multiple media inquiries regarding alleged unprofessional conduct by a teacher in the Lloydminster Catholic School Division, and has begun an investigation into the matter.
In a statement, Staff Sgt. Bruce MacLean of the Lloydminster RCMP said the investigation is being carried out in consultation with LCSD.
“I have received multiple media inquiries regarding alleged unprofessional conduct by a teacher in Lloydminster Catholic School division,” MacLean said. “This is a developing situation, and the Lloydminster RCMP have begun an investigation to determine the veracity of the online complaints working in consultation with the Lloydminster Catholic School Division who have been extremely cooperative.”
BorderPulse was first made aware of concerns related to this matter on May 10, when two students raised the issue directly. At that time, RCMP confirmed no investigation was underway. Renewed attention to the matter this week, driven largely by social media posts, prompted a follow-up inquiry to police, which led to Tuesday’s confirmation that an investigation is now active.
MacLean asked the public to allow the investigation to proceed without further speculation online.
“As the police investigate the allegations, we ask the public to allow police to do their investigation without sharing information online which has not been verified,” he said. “If members of the public are witnesses to any alleged behaviour, we request the witnesses come forward to speak to police.”
He also asked that the public refrain from any response to the unconfirmed allegations circulating online, citing the start of exams.
“Additionally, the Lloydminster RCMP requests no public response to these online unconfirmed allegations which could negatively affect the students of our school districts,” MacLean said. “Exams begin tomorrow and we are requesting the public does not disrupt or add strain to the students during this already stressful time through furthering online rumours or protests.”
MacLean said maintaining the integrity of the investigation depends on the public stepping back.
“Please allow the police to investigate and maintain the integrity of our investigation without tainting potential evidence and witnesses,” he said.
The Lloydminster Catholic School Division released this statement.

No charges have been laid and no individual has been publicly named by police or the school division.
