A 22-year-old Onion Lake woman is facing a drug trafficking charge after RCMP located a vehicle that had previously fled from police.

On Feb. 16 at approximately 8 p.m., Onion Lake RCMP were conducting proactive patrols when officers located an SUV that had fled from police the day prior. The vehicle was parked outside a residence in Onion Lake.

Police activated their emergency equipment and pulled in behind the SUV.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 19 grams of methamphetamine, along with a sword and a hatchet from inside the vehicle. An adult female was arrested at the scene.

Danielle Heathen, 22, of Onion Lake, is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

She is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 15, 2026.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team assisted in the investigation.
