After reviewing the video, The Border Pulse forwarded a copy to the RCMP for assessment of the officer’s conduct. They have since confirmed the footage is being treated as evidence in an ongoing investigation. As a result, the video will not be released publicly at this time.

The video shows an officer exiting a police vehicle and making physical contact with a suspect on a bicycle, who was brought to the ground as the arrest was carried out.

In a statement to The Border Pulse, RCMP said they are investigating a use of force incident that occurred on the evening of November 6 in the area of 52 Avenue and 39 Street. They will provide an update once the investigation is complete.
