Three people are facing charges after a months-long drug trafficking investigation led by the Strathcona County RCMP resulted in the seizure of large quantities of illicit drugs and more than $67,000 in cash.
In early October, the Strathcona County RCMP Drug Unit began investigating a suspected drug trafficker believed to be operating in Sherwood Park and Edmonton.
On Oct. 23, 2025, investigators executed two search warrants at residences in southwest Edmonton and Sherwood Park. The searches were carried out with assistance from the Strathcona County RCMP Property Crime Unit and the St. Albert RCMP Drug Unit.
At the southwest Edmonton residence, police seized approximately 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, 905 grams of cocaine, 552 grams of MDMA and 863 grams of ketamine. Officers also located more than $20,000 in Canadian currency.
At the Sherwood Park residence, RCMP seized a small quantity of steroids, user quantities of methamphetamine and more than $47,000 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, three people have been charged.
Michael Shaune St. Martin, 42, of Sherwood Park, is charged with possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. Police say he is also currently before the courts on a separate charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
Matthew Petrollini, 44, of Edmonton, and Tara Trudeau, 50, of Edmonton, are each charged with possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
St. Martin, Petrollini and Trudeau were all released on an undertaking with conditions. They are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on Jan. 21, 2026.
This enforcement action directly reduces the supply of illegal drugs in our community and disrupts criminal networks that profit from harm. Drugs such as these are often linked to overdoses, property crime, violence and the exploitation of vulnerable people,” says Inspector Kevin Peterson, Strathcona County RCMP Officer in charge of operations. By removing them from circulation, we are taking meaningful steps to prevent further harm and improve community safety.”
“This investigation was the result of coordinated and sustained efforts by RCMP investigators, with support from policing and justice partners. It reflects our commitment to community safety within Strathcona County and targeting those that pose the greatest risk to public safety. This is a great example of how RCMP Detachments can seamlessly work together, in bringing multilayered investigations such as this to a successful conclusion.”
The investigation remains with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and no additional information has been released at this time.
