Two charged after Meadow Lake pursuit and drug seizure

Two men are facing multiple charges after Saskatchewan RCMP seized drugs, weapons and stolen property following a brief vehicle pursuit in Meadow Lake.

On Dec. 9, 2025, members of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team attempted to stop a vehicle near 6th Street in relation to an ongoing investigation.

Police said the vehicle did not stop and drove away before becoming stuck in a ditch a short time later. Officers arrested the two occupants without further incident.

During a search, officers seized approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of cocaine, two handgun-style airguns, drug trafficking paraphernalia and several tools that had been reported stolen to police. A photo of some of the seized items was provided by RCMP.

As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Billy Joe Villeneuve of Flying Dust First Nation is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

Thirty-five-year-old Darren Durocher of Meadow Lake is charged with flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, five counts of failing to comply with a release order, four counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

RCMP said Durocher also faces additional charges in relation to incidents investigated by Meadow Lake RCMP over the past month, including another count of flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime and two further counts of failing to comply with release order conditions.

Both men appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Dec. 11, 2025.
