Lloydminster RCMP responded to a collision in the area of 41 Avenue and 37 Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the evening Dec. 11.
Police say initial reports indicated a vehicle struck a fence and a power box before leaving the scene. Officers later located the suspect vehicle in the area.
As the vehicle backed out of a nearby driveway, officers conducted a traffic stop.
RCMP say officers had reasonable grounds to believe the driver was impaired and administered a roadside breathalyzer test.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving and issued an appearance notice.
