Shortly after 9:30 a.m. Nov. 9, Blackfoot Fire and Rescue along with County of Vermilion River support units were dispatched to a structure fire.
Upon arrival at the location, first arriving crews pulled a line and made quick work of a fire in the attic of an outbuilding on the property. Extensive overhaul commenced to make sure all fire had been extinguished.
At approximately 10:45 Blackfoot Fire Chief John McGerrigle informed dispatch the fire had been stopped. The scene was turned over to investigators who determined the cause not to be suspicious.
As noted personally, while riding in a responding vehicle, multiple vehicles did not pull over for Firetrucks on route to the call. Residents are reminded to pull over to the side and come to a complete stop for fire vehicles.
