Lloydminster RCMP deployed a TASER during a bar fight on 44 Street late Saturday night.
Police were dispatched to a licensed establishment at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 after reports of a fight inside the bar.
According to RCMP Public Information Officer Cpl. Mat Howell, officers arrived to find people actively fighting inside the establishment.
“Units arrived to find people actively fighting inside the establishment, a TASER was deployed in order to stop the behavior as they did not respond to police commands,” Howell stated. “The matter is still under investigation.”
Police have not released further details on how many people were involved or whether anyone was injured.
At this time, no charges have been laid.
RCMP remained on scene for a period of time while officers worked to bring the situation under control. Video and photos from the area show multiple police vehicles outside the establishment.
Howell said the investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released if charges are laid at a later date.
