Battlefords RCMP say an investigation into several sudden deaths has found no evidence of suspicious circumstances, and the cases are not linked to an earlier report of a potentially hazardous beverage or liquid.

Authorities initially issued a public warning out of an abundance of caution after receiving a report about a possible dangerous substance. However, investigators have since determined that the liquid was not a factor in the deaths.

At this time, no additional incidents of sudden illness or death connected to the reported substance have been brought to police attention.

Officials say no further details will be released in order to respect the privacy of the deceased and their families. They added that public safety remains a priority and encouraged residents to continue reporting any concerns so they can be properly assessed.

Police noted that if new information emerges that poses a risk to the public, updates will be shared promptly.
