STARS responds to Highway 3 rollover near Turtleford

A rollover collision on Highway 3 east of Turtleford has prompted a STARS air ambulance response and closed the highway Sunday afternoon.

STARS-11 lifted from Saskatoon at 12:28 p.m., bound for Riverside Health Complex in Turtleford. Crews from Turtleford and the Rural Municipality of Mervin Fire Department, RCMP, and EMS responded to the collision at approximately 12:20 p.m.

The highway remains closed. Officials on scene have confirmed a traffic reconstructionist has been called in from Prince Albert, a step taken by RCMP in serious collisions.

A landing zone has been established at Riverside Health Complex.

RCMP have released this information.

“Turtleford RCMP are currently on the scene of a serious collision on Highway #3, approximately 10 kilometers east of Turtleford, SK. As this investigation is in the preliminary stages, we do not have additional details to share at this time. 

The highway is currently closed for an undetermined amount of time. Detours are in place and motorists should expect delays in the area. Please slow down and follow the instructions of emergency personnel on scene.
