Battlefords RCMP are investigating an incident in which bear mace and a knife were used during a robbery attempt at a business on 100th Street in North Battleford.
Police say officers were called to the area at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Jan. 18 after receiving a report of two armed males inside a business.
According to RCMP, two male suspects approached two people inside the store and demanded they purchase merchandise for them. One suspect was armed with a knife, while the other was carrying a can of bear mace.
The victims left the store, entered their vehicle, and attempted to drive away. As they were leaving, police say the suspects opened the vehicle door and sprayed bear mace inside.
The victims were able to drive away and did not report any injuries to police.
RCMP have checked the surrounding area for witnesses and video footage. At this time, no arrests have been made and no charges have been laid.
Battlefords RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and are asking the public for their help.
