In news:
A Sunday night collision involving a pedestrian had officials from Saskatchewan Health Authority’s ambulance dispatch centre in Prince Albert dispatching a crew from Onion Lake due to lack of available local crews.
Lloydminster RCMP have made an arrest after locating drugs and a weapon during a recent investigation. Police say the suspect now faces multiple charges and the investigation is ongoing.
Saskatchewan has announced funding for new long-term care facilities across the province, but Lloydminster was not included. The decision has renewed local concerns about seniors being forced to leave the community for care, despite ongoing calls for investment in border-city services. Traffic: Highway 16 in both directions considered partially covered for the most part with reduced visibility in all directions due to the blowing snow. If you are headed north to Onion Lake as well as out towards St. Walburg and Turtleford areas you can expect partially covered roads in the region with sections of reduced visibility as well.
In town, progress is ongoing on street clearing operations. I personally witnessed a vehicle go up on the curb over a sidewalk because they were going the wrong way down a street and met a school bus. Please pay attention to which side of the windrows you need to be on to drive safely in those communities.

A yellow Wind Watch is in effect warning of gusts approaching 90 km/h this evening into tomorrow morning. A snow squall watch is also in effect due to the chance of winds and snow causing areas of zero visibility.
Today, we are headed to a high of -5 with cloudy skies and snow throughout the day. As of 6:00 a.m. at the airport it’s -9 feeling like -18 with the winds out of the north at 28ย gusting toย 45ย km/h.
