In news:
The collision that closed Range Road 14 on Jan. 15 involved a suspect ramming a RCMP vehicle. The RCMP officer suffered minor injuries. The incident occurred after police were investigating a suspicious vehicle at an oil lease site.

John Charles Reid, the Lloydminster man accused of hate-crimes and weapons related charges in Dec. had his first day in court earlier this week. He will be back in court Feb. 2 for election.

Lastly, the City of Lloydminster wants residents to know that windrows may sit in the middle of roadways for a few days. Crews took advantage of the warm weather to scrap a lot of the streets, the contractor hired to haul away the snow will be back to work Monday.

Commidities:

March spring wheat closed at $5.18 per bushel, higher on the week.

March canola closed at $639.50 per tonne, gaining nearly $16 week over week.

March feeder cattle closed at $356.45 per hundredweight, lower on the week.

March oats closed at $3.02 per bushel, finishing higher.

Feed barley is trading around $237 per tonne in central Alberta, according to the latest Alberta Agriculture weekly market review.

Yellow peas are trading around $255 per tonne, based on the same report.


Energy Stocks

Western Canadian Select crude closed the week at US$45.16 per barrel, higher on the week.

West Texas Intermediate crude traded around US$59.20 per barrel at Fridayโ€™s close.

Shares of Cenovus Energy finished the week slightly lower.

Shares of Strathcona Resources also ended the week modestly lower.


Traffic:
Highway 16 in both directions from Lloyd as well as the trip to Onion Lake, St. Walburg and Turtleford have you driving on bare conditions today outside of two sections. The last stretch of 16 headed into Saskatoon as well as you’re asked to slow down heading over the Deer Creek Bridge on Highway 3 near Frenchman Butte.

Weather:
Today, we are headed to a high of 0 with mostly sunny skies, with a UV index rating of 1 or low. As of 6 a.m. at the airport it’s -16 feeling like -27 with the winds out of the south southwest at 30 gusting to 39 km/h.

The Bandits take on the St. Paul Canadians at home tonight at 8 p.m.
The Edmonton Oilers take the Canucks in Vancover tonight and the Calgary Flames take on New York Islanders at home tonight.
Jays fans, Bo Bichette, long time shortstop for The Toronto Blue Jays has signed a three year contract with the New York Mets.
