Collision slowing 50 Ave. in Lloydminster
A mid-day collision slowed traffic along 50 Avenue in Lloydminster as emergency crews responded.
Drivers were asked to expect delays while vehicles were cleared and traffic flow restored.

Lions host district governor as club focuses on growth
The Lloydminster Lions Club welcomed their district governor this week to discuss membership growth and community impact.
Club leaders say expanding service projects and attracting new members remain top priorities.

Meadow Lake RCMP seize 10 firearms, meth in search
Meadow Lake RCMP seized ten firearms and methamphetamine during the execution of a search warrant.
The investigation remains ongoing, one person was charged.

9.1 million illegal smokes seized on Highway 16
RCMP seized 9.1 million illegal cigarettes during a traffic stop on Highway 16.
Police say the seizure highlights continued smuggling activity along major transportation corridors.

Commodities

March spring wheat closed at $5.41 per bushel, up about 5 cents on the day.

March canola closed at $648.70 per tonne, down slightly.

March feeder cattle closed at $365.13 per hundredweight, edging lower.

March oats closed at $3.03 per bushel, modestly higher.


Energy Stocks

Western Canadian Select crude was trading at US$ 50.63 per barrel, climbing nearly 5 per cent.

West Texas Intermediate crude was trading around US$65.24 per barrel, also higher.

Shares of Cenovus Energy finished nearly three per cent higher.

Shares of Strathcona Resources also closed slightly lower.


Traffic:
Highways across the region this morning are moving well with no collisions to report as of 6 a.m.
Highway 17 north to Onion Lake is considered partially covered.
Highway 16 Between Edmonton and Lloydminster then on to Saskatoon is considered bare.
Roadways in and around Turtleford and St. Walburg are partially covered. Visibility in our region is being reported as good this morning.
The issue at Deer Creek Bridge on Highway 3 is ongoing.

The Volleyball teams are taking on the Northwestern Polytechnique Wolves at home over the next two nights. Bring a food bank donation tonight and get money off your ticket.

The Basketball teams are on the road to University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings for two matches this weekend.
