Officials confirmed they were on scene at an apartment complex in the 5100 block of 56 Avenue for the second time in less than 24 hours late last week.

The first response occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Jan. 1, when police attended the location to assist EMS while patients were being treated inside the building. Officers were present to ensure paramedics could work safely.

On Jan. 2 at approximately 4:14 p.m., officers with Alberta RCMP again attended the same apartment complex to provide support to EMS.

In a statement, RCMP said officers were on scene to โ€œkeep the peace and ensure the safety of EMSโ€ while patients were being treated.

Community sources told The Border Pulse that four individuals were taken escorted by EMS from an apartment inside the complex during the Jan. 2 response. Officials have not confirmed if anyone was transported, required medical attention or their current condition.

Several neighbours, who declined to speak on the record, expressed frustration over what they described as an ongoing situation within the building and said they hope it will improve.

RCMP said there is no information at this time regarding any investigation connected to either response.
