A structure fire in the Tulliby Lake area drew multiple fire departments and county resources early Wednesday morning.

The smell of smoke and visible flames prompted a passerby to call 9-1-1 just after 7 a.m., reporting a structure fire along Highway 641 near Range Road 11.

Marwayne Fire & Rescue responded, with assistance from Dewberry Fire & Rescue, County Fire Director Hughes and County Operations Officer Armitage.

Firefighters arriving on scene found heavy smoke conditions, with fire venting through roof soffits and windows. Crews made entry to the structure and extinguished visible flames, while additional units supplied water and provided fireground support.

The fire was declared stopped shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The scene was turned over to the Onion Lake RCMP detachment in Alberta for investigation. No word has been released on injuries or the cause of the fire.
