The morning commute slowed around 8 a.m. after a three-vehicle collision at Highway 16 (44 street) and 66 Ave Street.
According to RCMP one person was trapped inside a vehicle.
Firefighters removed the driver’s side door to gain access.
One vehicle came to rest against a lamppost, bending it, though it remained standing.
Other vehicles blocked the eastbound lanes, forcing a full closure. Westbound traffic moved intermittently through a single lane.
RCMP reported only minor injuries. EMS from Medavie did attend and could be seen speaking with one individual.
The roadway reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
There is no word on the cause or any charges. However, roads across the area were covered in ice earlier in the day.
