Lloydminster organizations received $18,242 in charitable gaming grants this quarter through Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS).

Eight local groups benefited from the funding, including the Lloydminster Rotary Club, Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, and Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39.

According to provincial data, this round of grants supported more than 1,000 charitable and non-profit organizations across Saskatchewan, totalling nearly $2.2 million between July and September.

“These charitable gaming grants are one of the ways our government delivers for the people of Saskatchewan,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for LGS. “This latest round helped support a diverse range of activities, including arts, culture and sport, hospital foundations, service clubs and more.”

Each quarter, LGS provides funding to eligible groups that hold licensed charitable gaming events such as bingos, raffles, and poker tournaments. Grants equal 25 per cent of the net revenue raised, up to $100,000 per organization annually.
