Resident of Lloydminster are encouraged to come out and meet with representatives of the Lloydminster RCMP and Lloydminster Municipal Police Committee (LMPC).
The event is scheduled for Nov. 6 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Legacy Centre.
You don’t have to look far to find online critics of the force. A recent announcement that crime was down in our community was quickly questioned by residents.
“I wonder if the crime is down or they just are not responding and lack of faith from the public isn’t calling,” said Andrew Conway.
Conway then proceeded to share his belief that Lloydminster’s members spend more time outside the community than in it, which isn’t the case. \

RCMP officials have told the Border Pulse, their officers are focused on policing the city limits. However, in rare situations, they can be called upon to assist outside of the city limits.
LMPC chair Darrell Dunn says the recently formed committee is to be the link between the residents and the RCMP. This event which will highlight a presentation by police as well as statistics and the ability to ask questions is meant to do that.
“We want to provide Lloyd citizens with the opportunity to engage with the Police Committee in creating a useful dialogue with both the City and the RCMP,” said Dunn.
If you are unable to make the event, you have the opportunity to fill out a questionnaire until Nov. 13 at the bottom of this page.
