Loon Lake RCMP are investigating after shots were fired at a home on Island Lake First Nation earlier this week.

Police say that on Nov. 4 at about 8:30 p.m., officers received a report of someone needing assistance at a residence on the First Nation.

While responding, RCMP began receiving multiple reports of vehicles driving erratically in the community. The vehicles were described as a silver Ford F-150 pickup, a red Ford Escape, and a grey Ford Edge SUV.

Officers later learned the red Ford Escape had been involved in a single-vehicle rollover. When police arrived, the SUV was found in the ditch with no one inside. Investigators determined it had been reported stolen from Goodsoil, Sask.

At the residence tied to the original call, RCMP found that a firearm had been discharged from one of the vehicles as it sped past, striking the house. No injuries were reported.

Police believe the erratic driving and the shooting are connected.

Loon Lake RCMP continue to investigate. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicles is asked to call Loon Lake RCMP at 310-RCMP, or to contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
