A 49-year-old Lloydminster man charged after an officer was injured during a disturbance at The Sticks is scheduled to return to court later this month.
Members of the Lloydminster Royal Canadian Mounted Police responded to the business at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 19. Police confirmed a male was arrested and a conducted energy weapon was deployed during the incident.
Martin Robert Boser is charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest under Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code, and mischief under Section 430(1)(d).
RCMP confirmed the member suffered minor injuries.
Witnesses at the scene alleged Boser approached an RCMP member, became aggressive and assaulted them before being tasered. Some said bystanders stepped in after the officer was spit on and struck.
Those details were not confirmed in the official police release.
Court records show Boser appeared on March 20, where language rights were addressed and counsel was designated.
He is now scheduled to return to Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 21 at 10 a.m. for a plea.
Boser was previously released on conditions.
The charges have not been proven in court.
