Further police investigation has revealed the minivan was northbound on Highway 41 no longer in the process of attempting to pass any other vehicles at the time of the head-on collision. Dashcam footage revealed the minivan was in the northbound lane and unfortunately crossed back over the center line into the southbound lane which resulted in this fatal collision with a semi-truck.

A 35-year-old Wainwright man is dead following a collision between a minivan and a semi truck south of the community.
On Feb. 28 at approximately 9 a.m., Wainwright RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 41 near Township Road 444, just south of Wainwright.
Preliminary investigation indicates the minivan was attempting to pass another vehicle when visibility became obscured by fresh blowing snow. The minivan then collided head on with a semi truck and trailer.
The sole occupant of the minivan, a 35-year-old male resident of Wainwright, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The 51-year-old male driver of the semi truck was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital, treated for his injuries and later released.
An RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist from the Eastern Alberta District is assisting with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Wainwright RCMP extended their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Perhaps fact check before posting. The minivan was not passing anyone. The van’s visibility was fine as per the dash cam footage police received from the semi driver. I’m not sure where you got this information but a few facts are incorrect. Perhaps u may want to retract this as your preliminary investigation statements are incorrect.
