Vermilion RCMP, with help from Alberta RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit, arrested Cole Erich Hill, 28, on April 25 in Sooke, B.C., in connection with the death of Brady Greg Snelgrove, 30, of Vermilion.
Snelgrove was killed on Jan. 21 in Vermilion.
Investigators determined Hill left Alberta after the killing. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Hill on April 22, after the Major Crimes Unit gathered enough evidence to support charges.
Members of the public provided tips that helped locate Hill. Sooke and West Shore RCMP detachments, along with the West Shore Bike Unit, assisted in tracking him down.
Hill faces one count of second-degree murder.
He appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He will be transported back to Alberta, where he will appear before a Justice of the Peace again regarding his court status.
Hill has not been convicted. The charge has not been proven in court.
