Kitscoty RCMP say a tanker truck travelling southbound north of the Lea Park Bridge was struck by an object that came off another vehicle around 7 p.m. Dec. 5. The impact cracked the truck’s windshield and damaged a mirror.

The other vehicle did not remain at the scene and the investigation has since concluded, RCMP said.

Marwayne Fire and Rescue, County of Vermilion River Protective Services and Medavie Health Services West responded to the scene. First crews provided medical assessment, managed traffic and confirmed the tanker was intact.

Because of the location, a Voyent Alert was issued by the County’s Emergency Management Division. One patient was assessed and released by paramedics.

Protective Services said the roadway was closed for a short time, but fully reopened by 9:28 p.m.
