Three men charged after sexual assault in Lloydminster

Lloydminster RCMP have charged three men after a sexual assault was reported inside a local hotel on Dec. 5.

Police were called to the hotel around 3:47 a.m. for a noise complaint. When officers arrived, someone in the lobby told them they had been sexually assaulted by individuals in the building.

Officers found the room involved and arrested three suspects. Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and Lloydminster Forensic Identification Section then executed a search warrant.

As a result of the investigation, Karan Joshi, 39, and Ghanshyam Verma, 22, both of Lloydminster, along with Joginder Momi, 45, of Edmonton, were charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.

The three accused were taken before a justice of the peace and initially remanded, but have since been released on conditions. They are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2026.
