Two transport trucks collided this morning (April 23) on Highway 16 near Maidstone, Sask., prompting an emergency response near the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 21.
Maidstone Waseca and District Fire and Rescue has been dispatched to the scene for traffic control.
What we know
One transport involved is a tanker. Oil containers are scattered across the roadway following the collision.
Westbound lanes appear to be affected, based on available traffic data.

On April 23, 2026 at approximately 10:50 a.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway #16 and Highway #21, in Maidstone, SK.
Officers responded, along with local fire. Investigation determined a semi and a crane truck collided. The drivers of the involved vehicles did not report injuries to police.
Highway #16 westbound has been reduced to one lane. Traffic may be temporarily delayed in the area as collision clean-up is still occurring. Maidstone RCMP ask travellers to drive with caution and slow down when passing emergency personnel on scene.
