Video: Charges laid after Semi involved in Lloydminster collision

A collision at approximately 11:10 p.m. June 29, a semi-truck and passenger vehicle were involved in a collision at the corner of 57 Ave. and 44 St.

Witnesses stated the Transport truck appeared to have ignored the light while travelling westbound on 44 St. before turning southbound on 57 Ave., The black passenger vehicle was travelling at a “quick speed” going eastbound.

Lloydminster Fire and Rescue, RCMP and paramedics from Medavie West arrived on scene and provided treatment to the teenage male of the vehicle who was hit by the deployed airbag. The driver of the transport was not injured.

A 33-year-old male commercial driver from Redpath Transportation out of Winnipeg was provided a ticket worth $243 for a traffic light related violation.

A 16-year-old male driver of the passenger vehicle was given a speed related ticket worth $243.
