Updated: Cut Knife Fire Rescue on scene of Poundmaker blaze

At approximately 6:40 a.m. MTN this morning, Cut Knife Fire Rescue was dispatched to a fire near Poundmaker first nation. The incident is now over and fire crews are back at hall and back in service as of 11:30 a.m. MTN.

A home on River Road was reported as fully engulfed in flames at the time of the initial dispatch. Sask Power, Sask. Energy, RCMP and fire are in attendance to the incident.

The home was in #400 numbers of Poundmaker’s civic address system.

There is no word on injuries, cause or length of time crews are expected to be on scene. The call does not appear to require mutual aid.

If you are in the area, please give emergency services time and space to work. Watch for water being shuttled to and from the location and move over for all emergency vehicles and come to a complete stop.
