Two drivers were ticketed after a collision at 52 Street and 62 Avenue in Lloydminster on Wednesday morning.
RCMP say the crash happened around 8:40 a.m. Lloydminster Fire Rescue, EMS and Community Peace Officers also responded, alongside RCMP.
Police say a silver SUV was making a left turn eastbound when it struck the driver’s side of a dark blue SUV. Both drivers told officers they had a yellow light.
The driver of the dark blue SUV, a 33-year-old Lloydminster woman, was ticketed for failing to obey a traffic control device.
The driver of the silver SUV, a 23-year-old woman from Streamstown, was ticketed for making an unsafe left turn under Alberta’s Traffic Safety Act.
Both tickets can be contested in court.
The collision closed sections of 52 St. for approximately 45 minutes.
