A stolen red SUV struck a Lloydminster RCMP officer June 22, setting off a high-speed pursuit that looped through Saskatchewan before ending back in the city with two women under arrest.

Sgt. Christopher Byford confirmed the officer is okay. Further details on the extent of injuries were not available This evening.

The pursuit began on the east side of Lloydminster after the officer was struck. The stolen vehicle crossed into continued into Saskatchewan before returning to Lloydminster, where it basically did circles through the city and was eventually stopped on 50 St. near 47 Ave in an alley.

Charges are expected in the morning.

A full media release from the detachment is pending those charges.

  1. This is terrifying. As a mother of an officer it’s very scary reading these articles and knowing if it’s your child.

    • I appreciate the concern, however, I trust RCMP to share the information they deem okay when I speak with them on-scene. Here is hoping whichever officer it was is recovering quickly.
