2024 Lloydminster Wins award for report

The City of Lloydminster has once again earned national recognition for how it presents its finances to the public.

Lloydminster received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for its 2024 Annual Report from the Government Finance Officers Association.

This is the second year in a row the City has received the award. It was Lloydminster’s first time entering the program in 2023 and it earned recognition that year as well.

The award recognizes municipalities that meet national standards for transparency, accountability and clear financial reporting.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers said the back-to-back recognition reflects the work behind the document.

“Receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for a second consecutive year is a very meaningful accomplishment for the City,” said Aalbers. “It reflects the care and attention that goes into preparing the Annual Report, which remains an important resource for residents to better understand City priorities, progress, and financial performance. We appreciate Administration’s ongoing commitment to providing clear, accessible information to our entire community.”

Annual reports outline how public dollars were spent, what projects moved forward and how the municipality performed financially over the year.

Residents can view the 2024 Annual Report at Lloydminster.ca/AnnualReport. The 2025 report is expected in June.
