A Lloydminster RCMP officer was dragged by a stolen vehicle and taken to hospital Monday night after a pursuit that reached speeds over 180 km/h on a Saskatchewan highway.
The officer has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
Lloydminster RCMP responded at approximately 9 p.m. on June 22 to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a local business. Officers located a red Subaru Outback with two women inside. A police check confirmed the vehicle had been stolen out of Loon Lake, Sask.
When an officer advised the occupants they were under arrest, the driver put the vehicle into drive and pulled forward, dragging the officer before fleeing.
A pursuit was initiated. The vehicle entered Saskatchewan on Highway 17, reaching speeds of more than 180 km/h. The suspect vehicle eventually doubled back on Highway 17 south, returning to Lloydminster and stopping between 49 and 50 Street on 47 Avenue.
Both suspects attempted to flee on foot but were quickly taken into custody.
Kailey Roy, 25, of Meadow Lake, Sask., has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Fail to stop for a peace officer
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000
- Assault a peace officer
- Fail to comply with release conditions (two counts)
Following a judicial interim release hearing, Roy was remanded into custody. She is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on June 25.
Charges have not yet been announced for the second occupant.
Charges are allegations. All accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

They certainly need to follow rules and safety and on streets and walk ways like vehicles
Someone will get hit and killed before more rules are followed
They should be ticketed like drivers
