Lloydminster RCMP boxed in a vehicle Wednesday evening (Sept. 2 ) after responding to a report of a parental abduction.
“K” Division RCMP public information officer Mat Howell confirmed the call came in around 8 p.m., reporting a threat to the children involved.
The vehicle failed to stop for police despite travelling at the posted speed limit, Howell said.
Officers carried out a boxing in maneuver, a coordinated tactic used to safely force a vehicle to stop. The maneuver was successful, Howell said.

No major injuries were reported to the suspect, the children involved or officers on scene, Howell said.
Lloydminster Fire Rescue and EMS also responded to support police at the scene.
No charges have been laid. Anyone connected to this incident is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
