Gallery – Cold Lake Airshow- Reflections of flight

If the page was a little quiet yesterday, I apologize. I’ve been an airplane nut much longer than I’ve been a journalist, so when I get to combine the two, some things take a backseat. Heading to the Cold Lake Airshow is a strange mix of stepping back in time and glimpsing the future, all within a four-hour span. Sitting here with a sunburn from a day I won’t soon forget, I know I’m one of the lucky ones. A walk through history The day started with a walk through the aircraft, including a trip front to back through a

Warm weather is helping crops progress, but saturated ground continues to stress crops in the Lloydminster area. Crops in the Lloydminster area are still fighting saturated ground, even as warm weather pushes development forward. That is 11 points below the region’s five-year average of 63 per cent, according to the latest Alberta crop report. Warm, dry week helps Sask. crops catch up

Warmer temperatures and less rain gave Saskatchewan producers room to spray and start haying, though the northwest saw some hail and moisture damage. Warmer temperatures and lighter rain helped Saskatchewan crops catch up last week, though parts of the northwest, including the Lloydminster area, still saw damage from hail and excess moisture. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture’s latest crop report says producers in the east-central region, along with parts of the northeast and northwest, are reporting moderate to minor damage from excess moisture and hail. Provincewide, drier conditions and more sunshine let fields dry out and gave producers a window

Advance planning positions city for $3M in grants

Lloydminster city council is betting that years of advance planning will pay off in federal dollars. Council voted Monday to submit two grant applications to the federal Build Communities Strong Fund, a $51-billion national infrastructure program launched in April. If both applications succeed, the city could receive up to $3 million toward two projects already sitting in its long-term capital plan. The first is the Bud Miller Enhancement Project, aimed at the fund’s Local Impact Stream. It carries an estimated cost of $2 million, split evenly between the city and the grant. The work covers a rehabilitation of the front

Lloydminster Health Report – 12 – The 13 recommendations

Cornerstone Planning Group originally posted on its website in February that the Lloydminster Health Service Needs Assessment contained 13 future-state recommendations. That page was later removed. This is the final chapter. BorderPulse has been working from an unredacted 261-page copy of the document the provinces refused to provide the public, meticulously examining its findings to bring those recommendations to light. On June 25, 2026, the governments of Saskatchewan and Alberta released a four-page summary of the Lloydminster Health Service Needs Assessment and told the public that “overall, service levels are being met similar to other communities of this size.” That

LLOYDMINSTER HEALTH ASSESSMENT: – 11 -The provinces failed us

Every story in this health series has a thread running through it. A provincial border that doubles the administrative burden, splits every system in two, and creates problems no other community in Canada has to solve. The health assessment says so. It has been saying so for years. There is a line running through the middle of Lloydminster Hospital. It does not appear on any floor plan. No sign marks it. No wall separates the rooms on one side from the rooms on the other. But it is there in every staffing decision, every patient transfer, every discharge plan, every
