RCMP “K” division Public Information Officer Cpl. Mat Howell has confirmed there is a significant accident on Highway 16 near Blackfoot.
At 9:45 a.m. reader Kimberly provided this note to The Border Pulse.
“Massive accident past kitscoty heading towards Lloydminster.”
She was concerned the highway would need to be shut down for clean up. After speaking with Howell, he was able to provide very basic details as officers were just arriving on scene.
“There is a two-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 16 near Range Road 20,” stated Howell. “There is no word on injuries, but drivers can expect lane restrictions in the area.”
RCMP remind motorists to reduce speed, move over and obey all emergency services personnel on scene.
