A pickup truck drove through the front wall of Dede’s Diner in Turtleford this afternoon (April 21), bringing fire crews to the scene and raising concern for those inside.
Turtleford and R.M. of Mervin Fire Department were dispatched to the call at approximately 3:45 p.m.
What crews found

A red Dodge pickup had driven fully into the building, its cab buried inside the diner through what appears to be the front entrance area. Initial reports indicated the owner of the diner may not have been able to get out. Those reports have not been confirmed. No apparent injuries have been reported at this time.
Investigation underway
BorderPulse has contacted the RCMP for comment. A response is expected Tuesday. It is not yet known what caused the truck to leave the roadway and strike the building. The extent of structural damage to Dede’s Diner has not been assessed publicly.
