Saskatchewan Provincial Courts confirmed Randy Lysohirka, 40, has been remanded into custody after his first court appearance.
He is charged with second-degree murder in the Sept. 21 fatal shooting in Lloydminster.
Lysohirka is scheduled to appear again Oct. 8 at 9:30 a.m. in Saskatchewan Provincial Court, the court said.
The charge has not been tested in court. Lysohirka is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
RCMP announced his arrest Sept. 24. Officers arrested him without incident at a rural residence outside Maidstone, Sask.
Police say the shooting happened around 11:09 a.m. on 50 Avenue near 47 Street. RCMP have said they believe it was targeted.
