At approximately 5:02 p.m. Sept. 29, a collision involving a pedestrian occurred in front of the RBC bank, bringing traffic to a stop in the area.
The Border Pulse witnessed the collision where a black SUV rounded the corner from 48 St. to turn south, striking the pedestrian. As someone walking in the same direction of travel as the driver, the sun may have played a factor in the collision.
RCMP officers were dealing with a separate situation less than a block away and were notified instantly.
Paramedic arrived on scene to assess and start treatment on the female who was struck. After assessing the patient and starting primary care they transported her to hospital with injuries.

50 Ave. was closed at the intersection for approximately 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
There is no update on the status of the individual struck. I would personally like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help assist the pedestrian.
